Kitchen glazing in Sheffield

We fit kitchen glazing throughout Sheffield and the surrounding S1, S2, S3 districts. The typical opening is a casement or top light directly above a worktop or sink run, and the specification we reach for is hinged or lift-out units with easy-clean access to both faces of both panes.

Installs are room-side only, so scaffolding is never needed and the exterior is untouched.

Every opening is templated on site — we do not price secondary glazing by the square metre.

We survey with a sound level meter where noise is the driver, so the target is a number rather than an impression.

Survey notes from the area

Kitchens generate more moisture per hour than any other room except a bathroom, so a cold pane there collects water faster than elsewhere in the house.

Where the window sits behind a sink run we set the opening mechanism to the side that clears the tap, agreed at survey.

Sheffield housing stock is Victorian and Edwardian terraces on the west side, 1930s semis in the suburbs, and a large stock of stone-built cottages in the Peak District fringe, which sets what we find behind the plaster line.

Nearest motorway is M1 J33 and the main corridor is Ring Road (A61) — both matter for a kitchen on that side of the house.

Sheffield has over 1,000 listed buildings — the highest concentration is around the university quarter and the west end.

Common questions

Can I still reach the window over the sink?

Yes — we set the opening side to clear the tap and any upstand, and lift-out panels come away entirely for cleaning.

Will it stop the cill getting wet?

In most kitchens yes, because the water forms on the cold pane and that pane is no longer the room-side surface.

Does cooking grease build up in the cavity?

Very little, because the cavity is sealed to the room. The room-side face wipes down like any other pane.
