Can I still open the bedroom window for air?
Yes. The secondary unit slides or lifts clear so the original window operates normally, and most people run the secondary closed with the primary vent open.
Does it work against a snoring neighbour or a shared airshaft?
Window-borne noise, yes. Sound travelling through a party wall or floor is a separate structural path and glazing will not fix it — we will tell you on survey if that is what we can hear.
