Installation Day: What Actually Happens
Secondary glazing is one of the least disruptive retrofits available. There is no external work, no scaffold, no wet trades and no need to leave the house.
The sequence at each opening
Protective sheeting goes down first. The sub-frame is offered up and packed to the reveal, checked for plumb and square, then mechanically fixed. The glazed panels are hung or slid in and adjusted so the seal compresses evenly across its length. The perimeter is sealed and finished, the panel is operated and adjusted, and the reveal is cleaned down.

Timing
Roughly 45 minutes to an hour per straightforward opening once on site. A three-window job is a comfortable single day; a whole terraced house is typically two. Bays take longer because each facet is set individually.
What to do beforehand
Clear a metre in front of each window, take down curtains and blinds, and move anything fragile off the sill. If a radiator sits directly under the window, leave access to its valves. That is genuinely all.
Sign-off
We operate every panel with you, show you how to remove or slide it for cleaning, hand over keys for any locking units, and walk the seal line with you before we leave. Anything you are not happy with gets adjusted then, not on a return visit.
