What actually damages stained glass
Thermal shock (rapid temperature swings across the pane) is the leading cause of cracking in stained-glass panels. A room-side secondary pane creates a buffered air cavity that eliminates the swing entirely.
The specification we install behind stained glass
Slim satin-anodised profiles in white or bronze finish, glazed with 4 mm toughened clear on the secondary pane so it stays invisible behind the coloured light. Every unit is templated to the reveal so no packing or fixing lands on historic joinery.
